Golf Research Group consultants have appeared as experts in the following:
| • | Retained by one of
the largest law firms in the United States to act in a high profile
litigation between a publicly quoted company owning a golf course
in Nevada and a number of home builders. Colin Hegarty prepared
a report, defended it in deposition and subsequently appeared in
court for cross examination, leading to a successful outcome for
the client. |
| • | A substantial U.S. based operator
of golf facilities retained GRG in a planning appeal relating to
the development of an 18-hole golf facility in England. Colin Hegarty
prepared a report and appeared in court as an expert witness with
regard to the market and demand for the proposed course. The appeal
succeeded, and the course was developed. |
| • | GRG was retained by a developer
over plans for an 18 hole golf course in southern England. Colin
Hegarty and Stephen Blake prepared a report, and Colin subsequently
appeared in court as an expert witness. The appeal was successful. |
| • | Retained by a hotel developer
in a planning dispute relating to the development of an 18 hole
golf course, GRG’s Stephen Blake prepared a report that was submitted
as evidence. The appeal, (which subsequently reached the Home Secretary),
was successful. |
| • | GRG has been retained by a law
firm in the west of the United States in potential litigation between
the owner and members of a high profile golf course relating to
the number of memberships to be sold. Colin Hegarty has prepared
expert testimony for this ongoing assignment. |
| • | GRG was retained by a large metropolitan
council in a case relating to the compulsory purchase of land from
a private member golf course in England. Stephen Blake prepared
expert testimony and appeared in court for cross questioning. A
satisfactory outcome in the dispute was reached for the client. |
| • | GRG has been retained by a water
authority in England in a case relating to compensation to be paid
to a golf course following the construction of a water pipeline
across it. Stephen Blake has prepared expert testimony in this ongoing
case. |
